To mark five years of Bluey, ABC wanted to take the celebration off-screen — bringing the warmth, fun, and heart of the show into the real world. The goal was to reward fans with a live experience that matched the emotional connection and creativity of the series itself.

Our curious spark

Two iconic Bluey episodes — Ice Cream and Tradies — inspired a nostalgic, authentically Aussie experience designed to delight fans and stay true to the show’s spirit. These storylines gave us a framework for both the van’s design and its purpose — reminding families of the show's humour, lessons, and loveable characters.

Bluey is more than a show — it’s a cultural phenomenon. We needed an activation that honoured the storytelling, celebrated the characters, and rewarded the community of fans who’ve made Bluey a global hit. Launch a Bluey-themed retro ice cream van experience — a two-week east coast roadshow that offered free ice creams, family fun, and a chance to vote for your favourite episode of all time.

We brought Bluey to life in a way that was playful, purposeful, and packed with detail:

Inspired by the show and built with authenticity in mind, from livery to location.

Bluey (blue sprinkles), Bingo (biscoff), Coco (pink sherbet), Indy (dairy-free) — each with a personalised sleeve

Pass the Parcel, Keepy Uppy, Taxi, Magic Xylophone — all lifted from the show.

Fans voted for their favourite episode by scanning a QR code — linking the on-ground activity with ABC’s digital Bluey Fest.
